- Need two Managed Paths for the Web application Hosting MSit
- MySite
- Personal or any name you want
- Go to SharePoint Central Administration Web Site
- Click Application Management tab
- Under Web Application Management Section Click "Define Managed Paths".
- Select the Web Application that will be hosting MySites
- Enter "Personal" in the text box and Select Wildcard Inclusion Click OK
- Enter "MySites" in text box and Select Explicit Inclusion Click OK
- Go to SharePoint Central Administration Web Site
- Click Application Management tab
- Under Site Management choose "Create Site collection"
- Enter Title as "MySite Host"
- Click the URL Drop Down and choose "MySite"
- From Templates Select Enterprise and click on "My Site Host" template
- Enter Primary and Secondary Owner and Click Create
- Go back to Central Admin,
- Go to Shared Services Provider Site for the Web Application
- Under personalization Click on "My Site settings" Link
- Enter http://yourwebAppname/MySite/ as Personal Site Provider
- In Location Enter Personal or your own keyword.
- Click OK
- Go to your portal page and Click MySite Link in the Welcome control.
