Riyadh Community Leads are pleased to announce the Visual Studio 2010 Academic Launch Event. This event is the first of the series of Visual Studio Launch events that will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia during April and May. These events are part of Global Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Launch events that will take place all over the work on 14th April 2010. This event is targeted to students and academics for providing first look on Visual Studio 2010, SharePoint 2010 Tools, NET Framework 4.0, Silverlight, Windows Mobile Development, Web and Windows Applications.

Jerry Yasir – SharePoint MVP

Jerry is Founder and President of Riyadh SharePoint User Group (RSUG.NET), Co-Owner of SharePoint Pakistan User Group and SharePoint Consultant at EJADA, Saudi Arabia. He hold a master degree in Computer Sciences and has nearly 8 Years of experience working in Microsoft Technologies including SharePoint, Microsoft .NET and Project Server.
He is currently responsible of executing and managing many large scale SharePoint implementations in Saudi Arabia. What’s New in Visual Studio 2010 – Riyadh Community Leads

In this session Riyadh Community Leads together will highlight some of the new and improved features in the Visual Studio 2010. They will cover of the major improvements in Web, Windows, Silverlight, Windows Mobile and Visual Studio Tools for SharePoint 2010. Community Leads will demonstrate how students can take advantage of these improvements.

Developing Rich Web Applications with VS 2010 – Mossalam, Nabil
1 Hour
In this session Mossalam and Nabil will cover Web development concepts in ASP.NET 4.0 and what are the new Web development features in Visual Studio 2010 including ASP.NET MVC, using Dynamic Data to Create Data-Aware Web Sites Using Microsoft Ajax and Client Scripting, Creating Web Pages for an International Audience, Publishing (Deploying) a Web Sites and Creating Custom Web Site Components.

SharePoint and Office 2010 Development with VS 2010 – Jerry, Hany
1 Hour
Jerry and Hani will describe SharePoint tools in Visual Studio 2010 and what features that will help developers in creating solutions for Microsoft SharePoint Foundation 2010 and Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010. They will cover the features like Developing SharePoint solutions, the project type and templates and project item templates, Design association and initiation forms for sequential and state workflows, Create Web parts and application pages for a SharePoint site, Browse SharePoint sites by using the Server Explorer, and how we can debug SharePoint applications by pressing F5.
